If you want to go back in time and hug your 8 year old self, give yourself a hug now. If you want to protect them, protect yourself now. Help yourself now. Care for yourself now. Be the guide you needed as a kid for the guide you need right now.

You can’t change the past and you can’t save yourself from everything that happened to you, but you can refuse to accept the lack of love you got. Give yourself that love. Look straight into a mirror and look at that 8 year old beautiful beautiful child who you know deserves better than this. And give them better than this. 

Treat them right. Treat yourself right. You were worth the world back then, and you’re still the same person. You still deserve the world. So get yourself in gear and go get it.
